Tullis Russell wins Carton of the Year award

Tullis Russell has won the Carton of the Year award in the 2010 Procarton/ECMA awards.

The independent Scottish paper manufacturer's uncoated SBS board trucard 0 matt was used on the winning job, used to create Tommy Hilfiger's 2010 summer fragrance.

It was printed by CD Cartondruck in Germany and has a three-dimensional, nautical design.

The company said that the choice of an FSC-certified uncoated board follows a growing interest amongst designers and packaging producers for tactile surfaces and grades with strong environmental credentials.

A spokeswoman for the company said trucard offers "the widest choice of FSC-certified coated and uncoated SBS cartonboards available" for the card, cover and premium packaging markets.

The range now also includes a selection of FSC-certified recycled grades that use 50% post-consumer waste, and an HP Indigo-certified version available in a variety of finishes and weights.
