The campaign, which aims to dispel environmental misconceptions around print and paper, has so far largely been supported by suppliers and clients of the industry.
These include all the major mill and merchant groups, Fuji, Haymarket Publishing, Duplo and Trinity Mirror Printing.
Martyn Eustace, who is heading the campaign for the National Association of Paper Merchants (NAPM), said: "Two Sides now needs the support of the printing sector.
"It's time for printers to get on board and early in the New Year, backed by the BPIF, there will be a major campaign to get widespread printer support. It should not be left to a generous few to sustain the funding."
Two Sides has been launched by the NAPM in a bid to show that print and paper is an environmentally sustainable medium.
Printers can join the campaign for £25 per million of UK turnover, although there will be a minimum of £150.
Last week, both paper manufacturer UPM and ink giant Sun Chemical announced their support.
UPM's John Sanderson, director of environmental affairs UK, said: "The Two Sides initiative is a valuable addition to improving our understanding of sustainable paper consumption and one which matches UPM's approach and outlook. There is a clear need for a balanced view on this topic."
Bertrand Lousteau, marketing director publications inks for Sun Chemical Europe, said: "As an industry, we have been in a continual improvement cycle for some time and we should promote how green our industry is."
Time for printers to back Two Sides, NAPM claims
The Two Sides campaign has said it will bolster its efforts to get printers on board, as suppliers UPM and Sun Chemical become the latest companies to announce their support.
