The Southampton-based commercial printer made a push for the green credentials following demand from its customers for more environmentally-friendly printed stock.

The firm, established in 1979, was accredited by the Soil Association and now carries out work on FSC-certified stock including the Greencoat range from Howard Smith Paper.

Technart administrator Ruth Watson told printweek.com the certification "was something that our clients wanted and something we are very pleased to offer".

"There has been an increasing demand for more environmentally-friendly stock, we were being asked time and time again," said Watson.

The 18-staff printer produces a range of material including brochures, leaflets and newsletters.

Watson said: "Being certified helps us add value to the print and the customers are responding to it".
