Techkon SpectroJet lowers cost of scanning spectrophotometry

Techkon has launched a low-cost handheld scanning spectrophotometer for press-side use.

The SpectroJet, which costs £6,500 (€7,450), will get its first showing at Print 09 in Chicago and will ship in October.

For more consistent reading of control strips, the company is offering an optional horizontal track that can be fitted to press consoles. The track is available in lengths up to 800mm, making it suitable for all press formats up to B2.

As standard, the SpectroJet comes with SpectroConnect software to feed data into third-party applications. It can also be used with Techkon's Expresso software, the Pro version of which supports ISO 12647-2 working.

Print 09 is due to take place on 11-16 September, in Chicago, US.
