The company, which has worked behind the scenes on inkjet engineering for some of the industry’s biggest names, is showing its new MonoCube 1505D compact inkjet device for the first time at drupa (Hall 9/Stand C6).
Graph-Tech director Piero Pierantozzi said the MonoCube was targeted at transactional and book printing applications. "The level of integration makes it special, because of the modifications we make to the heads," he stated.
As the name suggests, the MonoCube is a single-colour model. It comes in various print widths from 445mm to 783mm – in total there are 16 variations on the MonoCube range available within the same frame. Price is from €300,000.
The printer uses Kyocera heads and prints at either 75m/min or 150m/min. Operation is via a simple touchscreen interface, and the machine is WiFi enabled for remote service diagnostics.
Graph-Tech said this was part of the reason why the company did not need to use click-charges. "It is really simple for customers to use and maintain themselves, and as a result there will be no costly pay-per-click service contracts," explained business operations manager Reto Simmen.
