The study, conducted for Fespa by InfoTrends, with support from technology partner Xaar, surveyed 150 printers from the EMEA region and the US and found that digital print accounted for over three-quarters of all wide-format output.
According to the ‘evolution’ study, 57% of respondents "moved beyond price or made pricing a non-issue" during 2010, while 54%, invested in new technology.
Of those printers interviewed, 52% said they had launched a new service, 46% said they had promoted or sold wide-format services "in a different way" and 45.5% claimed to be implementing green printing practices.

According to a new research study, the economic downturn has accelerated the need for wide-format printers to become more growth-driven and improve their operational effectiveness.
