Star product: MAN Roland 700 HiPrint

MAN Roland has souped up its 700 sheetfed offset press with the launch of HiPrint, a revamped model boasting the flexibility to be adapted to suit a wide range of applications.

The company claims it offers both the largest sheet size and image area of all presses in its class. The B1+ machine processes a standard sheet size of 1,040x740mm and can also be produced in larger special sheet sizes of 1,050x740mm and 1,040x780mm.

HiPrint works at 17,000 sheets per hour in straight printing and 13,000 sheets per hour in perfecting mode and can be configured with two to 12 units. The press offers as standard automated makeready, semi-automated plate loading, air-guide delivery and a Deltamatic dampening system.

The unit can also be equipped with a range of optional modules to offer users increased flexibility, including UV, cold-foiling and inline coating modules, a reel-to-sheet feeder and perfecting units in 1/1, 2/2, 1/4 and 2/3 configurations. These can all handle substrates between 0.04mm and 1mm thick.

To reduce makeready the 700 HiPrint offers a number of QuickChange options such as automated front lays and smoother sheet alignment functions. In fact, the firm claims that by using these systems the
machine cuts makeready by up to 40%. A double-diameter sheet turning system and impression cylinder jackets also work to improve quality.

The machine is priced at £1.3m.
