Previously, lead times lasted up to two working days across mainland UK but all products can now be orderded until 2pm for free next day delivery, with a couple of exceptions such as spot UV jobs that require outsourced finishing. The deadline for next-day London-based orders remains 8pm.
Employees at the Essex-based printer have agreed to adjust their shifts, starting and finishing later to accommodate the service, while the firm 's sixth five-colour Speedmaster SM74 has been installed to coincide with the beginning of the new delivery scheme.
The company’s website has also been upgraded to feature dual clocks on product pages to notify customers when they should expect to receive their order in London or across the rest of mainland UK.
Solopress operations director Adam Wilson-Bowen said that products are now delivered by the company to the central courier in Birmingham for distribution across the UK, rather than relying on a pick-up service to ensure that jobs meet the deadline.
The company now is now on target to reach £11.3m turnover by the end of 2012, a 30% increase on last year, he added.
