The launch of these materials, which are "significantly" cheaper than other backlit films, complement similar materials the firm recently launched for latex printers.
"People using flatbed UV printers are looking for lower cost materials; the price of previous backlit films was a little on the expensive side for those users," said Sihl Direct UK operations director Ian Turnbull.
"The combination of polyester and paper used in the construction means these new media are very aggressively priced."
DuraCure Backlit is available in two thicknesses – a 130 micron and a 170 micron. LightCure Backlit 145 DS is a double-sided 145 micron thick film. The double sided coating enables it to be printed on both sides, either for higher density or for day/night applications that need to look good when front lit and back lit. LightCure can also be printed on laser printers.
