A multi-layer function, which enables it to produce more sophisticated graphics with up to five layers, will debut at Fespa 2010 - an increase from the previous limit of two.
Applications for the new feature include producing double-sided images on transparent materials by laying down CMYK, then white, then black then white and then CMYK again. Backlit displays for day and night viewing can also be enhanced by printing CMYK, white, CMYK, creating an image that can be viewed by reflected light during the day but retains the necessary depth and density for backlit illumination at night.
Another new feature being shown for the 2500 is a substrate fixing system to hold boards flat which have a tendency to curl during printing, such as corrugated boards.
Lastly, the firm's recently-launched Truepress Jet1600UV-F will be producing lenticular prints using DPLenticular materials.
