The Burton-On-Trent-based business has taken delivery of a B3 Hans Gronhi Sanxin YK524 press and freed up floorspace at the 278sqm Staffordshire facility.
According to Reflex Print director Simon Large, the move to four-colour has enabled the eight-staff company to change the way it works.
He said: "We were using the fifth unit as a sealer, but we have seen a decrease in the amount of sealing required, partly due to a change in the work provided by a major client, but also as a general trend.
"It got to the point where we realised we could reclaim some floorspace by going back to four colour and sealing offline when required."
Large added that the Sanxin machine, which was a "substantially lower investment", has offered the 13-year-old business the same quality and turnaround times as its outgoing press.
"The quality of work we are producing is identical, speed of turnround is identical, the difference is in the economics – with this machine we’re more competitive," he said.
In addition to litho production, £500,000 turnover Reflex Print offers wide-format digital print, promotional calendars, displays and promotional clothing.
Large added: "As this investment shows, our core business is B3 commercial print, and we’re fully equipped from pre-press to finishing with the latest and best machinery for that market."
