The workflow management module is said to enable "a much wider range of pre-media businesses to benefit from process automation".
It provides enhanced workflow integration functionality with the ability to create custom web forms for data capture, with information presented to the workflow as an XML job ticket.
James Lewis, managing director at Pro2col, said the features available in StingRay 3.0 are a direct result of the requests made from its print and publishing customers.
He said: "StingRay's new XML Job Tickets feature can be used to completely automate most prepress workflow solutions, enabling them to marry up incoming files with jobs expected by the MIS."
He added that the company is talking to various workflow and MIS vendors and the feedback "has been fantastic".
The company is also offering the product manufacturer in the UK for the first time, along with a new rack-mount appliance and improved branding options.
The latest 3.0 is free to all existing StingRay 2.6 users with a valid silver or gold maintenance contract, and can be downloaded from the StingRay website.
