Evidently not content with last year’s commendation, York Mailing has surged to the top in 2008 and can now claim its crown as PrintWeek’s Printing Company of the Year. No stranger to the winners’ podium, York Mailing was also PrintWeek’s Environmental Printer of the Year in 2006, so it comes as little surprise that the company continues to clean up the award categories. This year, the judges were wowed by the commercial printer’s commitment to continuous re-investment, which has seen annual spending double over the past two years. York’s strategy is paying dividends, as its £8m (26%) increase in annual turnover clearly demonstrates. And if that’s not enough to make you jealous, bear in mind that the company enjoys one of the healthiest pre-tax profit margins in the industry, at an impressive 9%.
