Stephens & George (S&G), which produces PrintWeek, fought off tough competition to be crowned Best Magazine Printing Company, while Welsh rival Pensord secured the Best Environmentally Sustainable Business – Supplier title.
"It was an honour to win this award and it reinforces our policy of investing in the latest technology and, just as importantly, our people – this award is for everyone at S&G as it proves through their efforts we continue to provide the highest standards to our clients," said S&G managing director Andrew Jones.
Denmaur Independent Papers collected the gong for Best Magazine Paper Supplier. Peter Sommerville, marketing director at Denmaur, enthused: "It's superb to receive this award in 2012, especially with the judges comments of 'a personable team with a can-do attitude, consistently going that extra mile' - we like that a lot!"
Meanwhile, PrintWeek's publisher Haymarket Media Group secured Best Environmentally Sustainable Business – Publisher. In its award citation, the judges praised the company for "demonstrating a systematic process to environmental management, which has improved performance across all aspects of the business".
"The award is testament to all the effort and hard work that the production and facilities teams, and our suppliers, have put in. It is also great to win this award in the year that we will be working with LOCOG to ensure that this Olympics is the most environmentally sustainable yet," said Haymarket Media Group head of production Gary Charlton.
