"The great advantage of using plastic over paper is that the products provide water resistance with no requirement for overlamination to protect the print," said a spokesman for the company.
"The 50-micron films are lighter than paper, making them ideal for catalogues where weight is paramount."
The range of films supplied by the manufacturer includes PET, PVC, polycarbonate, polystyrene and synthetic paper, as well as laminated and metallised films.
Product ranges include Dura-Go plastic films for printing on HP Indigo digital colour presses, which are said to offer good ink adhesion and extended shelf life.
The firm added that Dura-Go provided a higher quality and consistency than other plastics that had been topaz-coated for use in the Indigo.
The company's Dura-Kote polyester films, for dry-toner digital colour presses, are optimised to withstand the heat of the fusing process.
They are compatible with Xeikon, Xerox, Oki, KonicaMinolta, Ricoh and Kodak printers.
Applications range from backlit signs, scrollers and banners, to price tags, labels, transparencies, cards, brochures and catalogues.
Sheets are available in SRA3 format and rolls of 330mm to 520mm.
Materials are also available for inkjet printing for large-format graphics.
Dura-View is a plastic media for wide-format printing and is optimised for solvent-based inkjet printers to ensure high colour saturation and density. The waterproof and robust media is suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, according to Plaspro.
Plaspro also offers rigid and flexible Polyprop options for the point-of-sale market. The materials are used in the production of packaging, including cartons and bags.
