PCP creates digital arm

UK-based Precision Colour Printing (PCP) has taken major steps towards developing a new digital print department after investing in a Xerox Colour 1000 Press and Duplo bookletmaker.

Supplied by Fujifilm, the new machines will enable the £36m-turnover operation to handle an increased amount of short-run magazine printing work.

PCP, part of publishing business the Claverley Group, said it assessed the market before investing but Fujifilm’s expertise and service levels clinched the deal.

PCP managing director Alex Evans said: "This is something we are seeing more and more requirements for – and will also give us the ability to print any shortfalls in our production runs to the same high quality.

"In addition, we will be able to offer a digital printing resource to the rest of the Claverley Group, and will later look to roll it out further to offer a digital printing service to local businesses."
