The chairs, which are being printed by Agfa and cut out by EskoArtwork, are made from Re-board - a paper-based material designed to replace metal, wood, plastic and MDF.
The board, which is both strong and lightweight, has been developed for the graphics, point-of-purchase and shop-fitting industries.
It features a sandwich construction and, thanks to a special waterproofing layer, "provides good thermal insulation and protection from different weather conditions", according to Design Force marketing and sales director Kieron Loy.
It has an outdoor life of up to 12 months. Its durability means that it is possible to produce ramps and even semi-permanent furnishings with a minimal impact on the environment.
Loy said that Re-board was recently independently accredited to CEPI carbon footprint guidelines, which showed that it had "the lowest carbon footprint in the [board] industry at just 2kg per square metre from the cradle to the grave".
Re-board, which is 100% recyclable and is being represented at the show by UK and Ireland distributor Oriam Green (11/E239), is available in lengths of up to 3,200mm, with a width of 1,600mm and a thickness of 10-16mm.
