A new base model configuration of the Drupa-launched Primera MC model, the Standard, is a servo-driven, fully automatic machine that can handle 14,000cph. Pricing for this configuration starts from £380,000.
Muller Martini UK technical sales manager Ian Clarke said: “The difference with the Standard is that we tend to make these to stock, so it is a standard configuration stitcher, which enables us to give a slightly better delivery time.
“We can also add additional options onto it at a later date. For example, a 2-up kit would enable you to produce an A5 2-up and then you’d have a Center Cut kit on it. If a job or contract came in which needed that functionality then it’s retrofittable.
“Another retrofittable option available is the ASIR 3 image and barcode recognition system, which is a quality assurance system that prevents a product from being produced with missing signatures or signatures in the wrong sequence or upside down – it removes operator error.”
The Primera MC Standard will finish work produced on Heidelberg presses at the open house.
“We’ll have our technical people on site at the event and whatever Heidelberg produce, we’ll put through our machine as quickly as we possibly can,” said Muller Martini UK sales manager David McGinlay.
The company will also discuss its Connex workflow, which can be integrated into Heidelberg’s Prinect Postpress Manager, while sales representatives will also be on hand to discuss other Muller Martini machinery.
Heidelberg, meanwhile, will show two presses – the Speedmaster CX 75 and the Speedmaster CS 92 LED-UV – for the first time in the UK at the event, which will take place at the manufacturer’s national showroom in Brentford on 21-22 February.
