The company operates a comprehensive selection of multicolour B1 Heidelberg presses, including eight- and 10-unit models, and the new kit will replace an existing Kodak platesetter that has been in use for six years, producing 350,000 plates.
Mark Croucher said it was in part the reliability of the platesetter that swung the decision to choose Kodak again.
"We've also had first class service from Kodak, so it was the obvious choice for this latest investment. The Kodak Prinergy workflow system is already at the heart of MPG Impressions, and is regarded by many in the industry as the most reliable internal file format on the market.
"It drives not only our CTP facilities, but our Epson inkjet proofing equipment, as well as our presses," Croucher said.
MPG Impressions is one of the largest independent litho and digital sheetfed printers in the UK.
During the last two years it has been significantly expanding its customer base, which now includes corporate, commercial and design agency clients, as well as directory, fine art and publications work.
