The Japanese firm is adopting the theme Net Production Nets Profits at the event, highlighting what Mitsubishi boasts is a raft of machines giving "unparalleled levels of productivity".
At the top of the product line-up is the Diamond V3000 Series, which was first introduced to the print industry last September at Japan's International Graphic Arts Show. At Drupa, Mitsubishi will be demonstrating the press in model variations that have not been shown before.
The range includes the six-colour Diamond V3000LX with coater and extended delivery; an eight-colour Diamond V3000R convertible perfector; and a 10-colour Diamond V3000TP Tandem Perfector. All of the presses can handle sheet sizes of up to 1050 x 750mm and print at speeds of up to 16,200 sheets per hour - something Mitsubishi boasts is the fastest performing perfector speed in the world.
The V3000LX will be demonstrated four times a day at Drupa. Each demonstration will feature a strike-through varnish technique, which has been developed by Mitsubishi's Paper & Printing Research Development Center.
Attendees at Drupa will also be able to see the V3000R in action, alongside the V3000TP. The demo will highlight the benefits of SimulChanger, Mitsubishi's fully automated plate changing system, which removes old plates and mounts new ones at every unit simultaneously in less than 75 seconds.
All of the press exhibits will be linked to the Mitsubishi Color Control System (MCCS-V), which scans the image on a printed sheet and then sends the information, including deviations to ink keys, to a press's individual printing units via an IPC control console. The IPC console, which appears on the entire range of presses, is also equipped with Diamond Color Navigator, a system designed to improve conventional colour matching by simplifying the colour adjustment process.
Mitsubishi will also be presenting its newspaper and commercial web offset presses at Drupa. Both lines, including a new in-line colour control system, will be demonstrated four times daily.
Drupa 2008 takes place between the 29 May and 11 June in Düsseldorf, Germany. Mitsubishi stand D42 will be located in Hall 15, occupying an area of 1,600 square metres.
