The new machine, supplied in UK and Ireland by Hybrid Services, builds upon the company's existing UJF-3042 model with the addition of the primer that, according to Mimaki, promotes better adhesion on certain substrates when using UV curing inks.
Priming takes place automatically as part of the printing process and comes in the form of cartridges, which are available in either 220ml or 600ml sizes.
According to Duncan Jefferies, marketing manager at Hybrid Services, the machine is suitable for a broad range of companies such as those producing short-run packaging prototypes, promotional collateral, sign and display graphics and specialist label & badge makers.
In addition to the new primer, Mimaki now offers two new inks, the LF-140 and LF-200 stretchable inks, which allow for printing on a greater substrate range for applications such as flexible labels.
The UJF-3042FX can print at a resolution up to 1,440 x 1,200dpi. The machine can handle stock sizes up to 300 x 420 mm in size and up to a maximum substrate up to 50mm thickness.
The Mimaki UJF-3042FX, which is available from November, will retail for £22,995.
