The wide-format manufacturer is a founding exhibitor and supporter, and will help shape the event as part of the EcoPrint Development Group.
EcoPrint is the first to emerge since former Fespa event directors Frazer Chesterman and Marcus Timson took charge of FM Brooks, part of the Mack Brooks Exhibitions Group earlier this year.
According to the organisers, the show will "fill the gap" in the market for a show that focuses on business efficiency and sustainability issues for print service providers.
Mike Horsten, marketing manager at Mimaki, said the manufacturer's involvement ties in with its strategy to combine innovation with sustainable performance.
He said: "The EcoPrint concept recognises that sustainability doesn’t exist without commercial viability, yet to be commercially viable you must be a sustainable and creative business.
"This is a reflection of Mimaki’s approach to technology and so this new event is a compelling proposition."
According to Frazer Chesterman, director at EcoPrint, Mimaki's involvement demonstrates "the confidence the print sector has in the EcoPrint concept".
Last month, HP signed up to become the headline partner for the 2012 trade event, which takes place in Berlin from 26-27 September 2012.
