McKenzie Clark installs Virtu RR50 wide-format printer in UK first

Display graphics printer McKenzie Clark has installed the UK's first Virtu RR50 wide-format digital printer ahead of what it expects to be "the busiest year since the Millennium effect of 1999".

The London-based company has ordered the 5m-wide machine through UK Virtu distributor Digital Print Innovations (DPI), which will also install and service the machine.

According to Graham Clark, managing director of McKenzie Clark, the company is "delighted" to be installing the machine ahead of the increased sales activity it anticipates next year.

"It will enable us to take advantage of the exciting opportunities surrounding the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Queen's Golden Jubilee, while continuing to satisfy our core clients with the great service they have come to expect," he added.

The Virtu RR50 can print on any flexible material up to 5m wide at speeds up to 320sqm/hour and at resolutions of 1,200dpi . Available in four- or six-colour versions (including light cyan and light magenta), there is also a white ink available for both.

It also includes an integrated multi-station cutter, multi-roll capability and an anti-static device.

The machine is aimed at point-of-sale, vehicle wraps, banners and flags, as well as one-piece billboards and hoardings.

"The Virtu RR50 is an award-winning, high-capacity, flexible machine which produces output of the very highest quality, a combination which is crucial to our business model," said Clark.
