Partners Paragon, Matti Orion, Spedo and Encore have teamed up to create a single inline sealing machine that incorporates a unwind roll feeder, a continuous form guillotine cutter, a high-speed folding unit and heavy-duty pressure sealing line as a complete solution.

The system was launched at a series of open days held this week at Matti Orion’s premises in Wooton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire. The automated roll-feed system is supplied by Matti Orion, with a Spedo guillotine that is capable of either pin-fed or pin-less production, an MB folding system with fully automatic setting, including all plates, fold rollers and alignments rails from Encore Machinery and a Paragon pressure seal system that processes up to 430mm-width forms, either 1-up or 2-up.

Encore machinery sales manager Paul Davidson said: “There is nothing on the market that offers a complete solution like this. It’s not that easy to put your own line together because you have to work out the compatibility and communication between each module. With this particular line there is one port of call, so the problem is solved.”

The Concero line is aimed predominantly at high-volume mailing organisations, high-security transactional producers as well as print management companies, that may deal with security documents such as wage slips, bank cards and pin number documents, Davidson said.

“It can be lent to personalised marketing pieces, one-piece mailers and vouchers, for example, and if people think outside the box it can have some really interesting applications.”

The line, which can be configured to work with continuous form or cut-sheet applications, is designed to be used with high-speed digital print that is cut and folded to the required size and finally sealed on Paragon’s high-pressure sealing unit.

“What you’re left with at the end is a flat, sealed product that can’t be tampered with,” said Davidson.

The Concero is available through all four partners. Price is from £105,000 plus VAT and depends on configuration.
