The agreement will focus on the Starter and Mistral Kala machines. Among the range is the Starter 1400 cold laminator – an entry-level machine targeted at sign-makers, photo laboratories and print-shops, which is suitable for substrate widths up to 1,400mm.

Josero, which supplies printers, inks, printheads and spare parts, used last month's Sign & Digital UK 2012 show to showcase the Starter model, making four sales across the three-day event.

Josero managing director Loic Delor said the strategic partnership with Colourgen enhances its product range.

He said: "We are already able to supply our customers with printers, along with the ink and media to go with them; it seemed a logical step to add finishing products.

"I have known Colourgen for years and both our companies share the same values in partnership and business, so teaming up with them seemed absolutely the right thing to do."

According to Colourgen marketing manager Melanie Enser, Josero identified a gap in its product range and the Kala laminators will help the business provide a full package to customers.

"They are very affordable laminators and are great for someone who is new to the finishing market and others who are looking for high-speed finishing," she added.

Last year, Josero expanded its Cambridge premises and with a view to broadening its UK and European reach with the launch of several new printers.

Josero updated its facilities with a demonstration suite, technical training and increased space for some of its new print units.
