The company can retrofit LE-UV, LED-UV or conventional UV drying technology onto installed or secondhand sheetfed litho equipment. It can also fit systems which can switch between the different UV options.
IST (UK) joint managing director Chris Schofield said: “We can offer consultancy on the trends in UV of all types and discuss the technical aspects, costings and options for consumables. We have a clear advantage over some rivals in being objective in our advice about the inks and chemistry to use.
”Although LED-UV and LE-UV options use up to 60% less energy, it is not the environmental benefit that is firing up interest in the technology.
“Printers are expected to supply shorter runs to increasingly tight deadlines. The cost benefit of being able to take sheets or boards dry off the end of the press for immediate processing and delivery combined with the lift in aesthetic finish – for which read added value and profit – are the key motivating factors.”
