Agfa Graphics
www.agfa.com
Stand 11/CD220
Ipex will be Agfa's first European exhibition since it completed the acquisition of Gandi Innovations and its Jeti range of machines. Expect to see two Jetis at the show, one of which will be the Jeti 1224 UV HDC, a UV-cured flatbed with a bed size of 1,200x2,400m. The 1224 uses Agfa's Anuvia UV inks in the solid steel chassis developed by Gandi. Printheads are the latest Ricoh models and the machine is capable of a maximum throughput of 110m2 per hour.
Canon Europe
www.canon-europe.com
Stand 10/CDEF270
Canon's wide-format offerings at Ipex will be the latest machines in its imagePrograf range of aqueous ink machines, which provide a wide choice of devices for proofing, graphics and indoor display materials.
Durst
www.durst-online.co.uk
Stand 11/F220
Ipex will be the first outing for Durst's 5m-wide UV-cured flatbed machine, the Rho 500R, which was launched last year at Fespa Digital. The development of flexible UV-cured inks has made it possible for UV printing onto flexible materials and with the Rho 500R, Durst has got a heavyweight machine. To maximise productivity and flexibility it can operate with up to three rolls loaded at the same time with individual RIP queues for each roll.
Epson Europe
www.epson-europe.com
Stand 10/C260
Leading the line-up of wide-format kit will be the GS6000 eco-solvent printer for internal and external displays. A range of the latest Stylus Pro inkjet aqueous printers will show their flexibility and quality for internal display work.
Fujifilm
www.fujifilm.co.uk/gs
Stand 09/CD360
Fuji has become a major player in wide-format over the past few years with the acquisition and integration of the Sericol business. At Ipex it will show a full range of UV-cured machines. Two Acuity machines, its mid-range high-quality flatbeds, will be on show, including the latest faster Advance HS, which printed the IpexDaily distribution bins that will be dotted around the halls. The other flatbed machine on show will be the Inca Onset S20, which will be running a new six-colour ink set. Dominating the stand will be the Uvistar, a roll-to-roll UV machine designed for poster production. Highlighting the evolution of posters will be the Ecoflex system. Developed by early Uvistar user Urban Storm, its use of woven polyester is only possible due to the flexibility and adhesion of the latest UV-cured inks.
HP
www.hp.com/go/graphic-arts
Stand 12/AB150
Large-format, wide and super-wide printing will be demonstrated by a range of HP Designjet and HP Scitex printers, including the latest Designjet L25500 latex machines (see Star Product, p28). The original and larger 2.6m-wide latex Designjet L65500 will also be on show alongside the Scitex FB6100 UV flatbed and the XP2750, a 3.2m roll-to-roll UV machine that has optional tables to turn it into a hybrid handling rigid sheets too.
Mimaki
www.mimakieurope.com
Stand 12/C120
Historically, one of the leading lights in roll-to-roll solvent print and cut, Mimaki's Ipex focus is on UV-cured print, in particular its JFX and UJV machines that use LED UV curing. LED UV cuts down on the amount of heat generated, widening the range of substrates that can be handled. Its flagship JFX 1631 flatbed will be shown with an additional curing unit and with roll-to-roll handling. Also on show will be two industrial printers capable of printing onto 3D objects the UJF 706 and the new UJF-3042.
Océ
www.oce.com
Stand 12/B150
The latest version of the firm's category defining flatbed machine, the Arizona, will be the wide-format focus for the firm at Ipex.
Roland DG
www.rolanddg.co.uk
Stand 12/C140
This will be Roland DG's first Ipex appearance and it's starting with an impressive line-up of equipment. Top of its wide-format kit is a choice of two machines that feature its so-far unique metallic inkjet capabilities: the VersaCamm VS-640 and the XC-540MT, which both use eco-solvent inks. Also on show, although at 330mm wide not strictly wide format, is the VersaUV LEC-330 a UV-cured printer and cutter that includes white ink and matt and gloss varnish for producing textured and 3D effects, which is proving popular as a versatile industrial machine and proofer.
Screen
www.screeneurope.com
Stand 10/C290
Screen's 2.5m-wide UV-cured Truepress Jet2500UV will be representing the firm's wide-format portfolio at Ipex – due to constraints on space it had to limit the hardware on show. New for Ipex is a modified materials handling system that enables the machine to handle corrugated cardboard without the warping and distortion the substrate normally suffers from when printed using UV technology.
