With the need to ensure colour accuracy globally in a market where time and economics precludes sending a physical proof through the post, EFI has come up with Web Control Center (WCC), a tool to show that colour can be controlled and monitored digitally. Provided on an Application Service Provider (ASP) model, WCC can monitor the status of remote proofers driven by its Fiery XF RIP anywhere in the supply chain. It uses JDF to transmit status information on any proof created to a central host and can be set to send alerts and emails when any issue occurs. When used with a printer with an embedded spectrophotometer the process of measuring and reporting on the status of the proof can be totally automated.
And there’s no need to limit it to proofs – any digital output can be measured and reported back.
