Ipex 2014 celebrates return of litho press manufacturer

Informa Exhibitions has announced the return of a significant offset litho press manufacturer to Ipex 2014.

Komori Corporation, which pulled out of Ipex 2014 in November 2012, has returned to the floorplan as sponsor of the new 450sqm 'Eco Zone' in the South Hall, located near the World Print Summit area.

Informa stressed that Komori was not an "exhibitor" and said that the Eco Zone was an Ipex Feature, sponsored by Komori. However, Komori personnel will be present in the Eco Zone.

As the sponsor, Komori will get to demonstrate its technology on the Eco Zone stand in the form of a five-colour 40" press with coater and dryer, featuring its ozone-free, low-cost H-UV curing system.

Komori will host around five or six presentations a day focusing on recent UK legislation that requires quoted companies to measure and report their annual greenhouse gas emissions and how this will impact print service providers.

The presentations will be fronted by Ipex, and will include a section on the H-UV technology, which will be a presentation by Komori.

Neil Sutton, managing director of Komori UK, said: "We were approached by the Ipex 2014 management team to discuss our H-UV printing technology and showcasing it in the the Ipex Eco Zone, so Komori have taken the decision to sponsor this feature.

"This will be an excellent platform for Komori to continue to build on its market leading position for the supply of low emission, eco-friendly and innovative H-UV printing."

Wayne Beckett, sales director of Ipex 2014, said: "We are delighted that Komori made the decision to participate in Ipex, and are confident that commercial printers from around the world will benefit significantly from their offset technology and eco-expertise.

"As the role of print continues to evolve in the multi-channel marketing communications mix, it is important to dispel any misperceptions in the industry about its environmental impact. Komori has a brilliant green story to tell, and their participation in the Eco Zone will allow them to do this at Ipex 2014."
