The paper manufacturer had to show the origin of all fibres used in the range and had to demonstrate that at least 10% of the fibres were sourced from certified sustainable managed forests.
The company's UK, Ireland country manager Mike Robertson said: "The EU flower logo is also extremely beneficial for showing customers that our tinted paper range is not only environmentally sound, but also reflects that we have met a whole range of environmental criteria to achieve the status."
The EU Eco-label is a voluntary environmental label that was created by the European Commission and established in 1992 to encourage businesses to market products and services that are better for the environment. Products awarded the label can carry the standard's flower logo.
International Paper's Rey Adagio paper range is manufactured at the company's Saillat mill in France.
Some 85% of the mill's energy requirements are being met by the on-site production of green energy due to its combined heat and power plant. This year, the mill has also reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 78%.
