Inkjet innovation and trends explored at technology showcase

The IMI Europe Industrial Inkjet Technology Showcase 2015 will be held at the Angelo Hotel, Munich Westpark, Germany, from 24 to 25 June.

Experts including Mark Handley from IT Strategies, Heidelberg’s Jason Oliver and Voxeljet’s Ingo Ederer will speak at the event, now in its 14th year.

For the first time, the conference will feature a new Industrial Print Forum.

Sessions focusing on packaging, brand and retail, design and decor and future technology will be hosted by Marcus Timson and Frazer Chesterman, the founders and organisers of industrial print show InPrint, as well as Xennia Technology’s Tim Phillips.

Timson said: “Inkjet as a technology is maturing and beginning to be used in a number of non-traditional print applications that are more industrial. It’s seeing a lot of interest and gains in terms of use in manufacturing sectors, particularly in Europe where it’s been adopted more quickly than in other regions.

“Because inkjet quality is getting better, designers can express themselves and introduce designs that are perhaps more creative than before.”

There will also be presentations on emerging applications and talks that will explain why industrial printing represents a significant opportunity as a growth market.

Separately, Timson added that more than 60 new exhibitors have been confirmed for this year's InPrint show, which will take place in Munich from 10-12 November, including HP, GEW, Inca, Konica Minolta and Bordeaux Digital PrintInk.

Other speakers at the Industrial Inkjet Technology Showcase meanwhile will include representatives from Charterhouse, Tonejet, ThePackHub, Kuei and Xaar.

Evening receptions will also enable visitors to network and meet with key manufacturers, suppliers and experts.

IMI Europe Inkjet Technology Showcase 2015 managing director Mike Willis said: “Thanks to continued innovation and the benefits of inkjet printing, this year’s event promises to be bigger, better and more insightful than ever before.

“We are really excited about our new industrial print track focusing on innovation within inkjet printing for manufacturing. This market is growing quite significantly and now represents a huge opportunity for our exhibitors, speakers and visitors alike.”
