The Horizon RD-4055 Rotary Die Cutter can die-cut, crease, perforate, slit, hole punch and round corner in one process for digital and offset printed sheets.
The machine runs at up to 6,000 cuts per hour, has a maximum sheet size of 400x550mm, substrate flexibility up to 0.5mm, one pass processing and a servo motor with a controlled ‘repeat register’ feature that allows multiple-up applications from single-up die to minimise die cost.
The Horizon AF-406F / T406F is a JDF ready automated modular buckle folder which has six buckles on the first station and six on the second that can be combined. It features small circumference and multiple compound rollers for consistent precision folding of complex smaller formats at speed.
The folder runs at up to up to 30,000sph, has a maximum sheet size of 400x650mm, can memorise up to 200 job settings and has advanced automation for short makereadies. Pharmaceutical folds can be set up automatically and small fold dimensions down to 20mm can also be performed on it.
The Horizon TBC-200L automatically trims the head and foot of magazines and catalogues. Working inline with the SPF-20 / 20a and SPF-200 and 200L stitchers, it trilaterally cuts work as part of a smooth one step process and eliminates the need for separate cutting and moving of work.
The machine runs at up to up to 4,000bph, has a trim thickness of 5mm and a trim width maximum of 25.4mm.
“Horizon is constantly launching new products and updating bindery favourites and Print Efficiently is the perfect platform to launch these new additions,” said IFS managing director Bryan Godwyn.
“We challenge customers to think about where they need to go in the future, where their bottleneck is, what their big problems are and where they can make some more money and make themselves a little bit more unique. These new machines can do that; anybody can print and anybody can finish but it’s about adding those little extras.”
IFS will also show the Horizon BQ470 four-clamp perfect binder, StitchLiner 5500 book production line and B2 AFC-566 folder and the Foliant Vega laminator at the event.
“The StitchLiner 5500 is an absolute key product for us while the BQ470 four clamp perfect binder with either EVA or PUR glue is a big topic of conversation for printers at the moment as perfect binding run lengths are getting a lot shorter and they need to get into that finishing application,” said Godwyn.
Print Efficiently 2014, which will be held at Apex Digital Graphics’ Hemel Hempstead showroom on 7-9 and 21-23 October. It aims to demonstrate how equipment from a variety of pre-press, press and post-press manufacturers can work in harmony, and to provide an educational forum to offer new ideas to printers regarding efficiency and profitability.
“It’s a collaboration with other like-minded partners so there’s no conflict there, it’s a casual soft approach for customers to come along to have a look at where their businesses are and for companies to show their wares, show the future and show the way they’re moving ahead,” said Godwyn.
“It’s a way of joining up litho, digital and finishing and showing customers what they could be doing if they’re not already doing it.”
