From now on IFS will supply the whole range of Tecnau and LasermaxRoll equipment into the UK, which includes guillotines, dynamic perforation and unwind solutions.  

The LasermaxRoll brand became part of Tecnau Group in June 2011 when all business operations and assets were acquired by Tecnau.

The Tecnau range perfectly complements the range of Horizon post-press kit IFS is already exclusive UK agent for said, Tony Hards, joint managing director at IFS.

“This will make us very competitive in the inline digital market, especially in roll fed solutions. We have lacked up until now the ability to offer unwinding and cutting,” said Hards. “We can now offer a continuous feed solution for Horizon, so if you want to make a stack of loose leaves, you can’t do that within the Horizon range so you need Technau equipment.”

Tecnau works with around 30 other distributers across the globe, supplying directly in the US. The company’s intention is to increase its UK reach through this partnership, Tecnau said. 

Area sales director Andreas Nord said: “Tecnau is the market leader in the States and globally. In Europe what you see is in some countries we are very strong and some others not so strong- that’s something we are trying to address. We are looking to strengthen our position in the UK. We know we will benefit from the knowledge and experience of IFS.”

“We offer very complementary solutions to IFS’s line up and we feel IFS will prove a good route to market in the UK. IFS is very strong in the graphic arts market and this is where we are focusing our efforts,” he added, explaining that other key areas for the company are the transactional, transpromo, direct mail, and book markets.

IFS’s Hards added: “Friedheim have for a long time sold the Technau equipment and sold a lot of it; we are now coming in to hopefully carry on the good work Friedheim started.”

IFS will provide all service support on Technau/LasermaxRoll kit.

The partnership was announced at Ipex where IFS showcased on its stand a finishing line consisting of a Tecnau TC7000 guillotine cutter, Lasermax 550 unwinder, Horizon buckle folder AF-566F, Horizon stacker P5X56 and Horizon perfect binder.
