The purchase marks a move on Meteksan’s part from conventional offset finishing to digital, and will be run inline with a Canon ColorStream web printer and Hunkeler web cutter to process variable data exam booklets.
It is the first sale Ibis has made to a Turkish company.
“We are gradually making ourselves more and more well known in the industry as the suppliers of inline finishing,” said managing director of Ibis John Cracknell. “We have so many machines around the world producing exam papers; we are the number one supplier into this market.”
Meteksan opted for the SB-3 version of the binder to benefit from its cold glue feature, also speccing the system with 2D data matrix barcode readers for both sheets and covers.
The SB-3 ‘Plus HS’ configuration starts from €150,000 (£124,000).
