The sales operations will be condensed into a network of six regional sales centres, which will each be headed up by a regional director.
HSP managing director Andy Buxton, who took up the post earlier this year, said: “Central to the delivery of our goals is our people.
“A critical part of our plan is working to ensure that they are empowered and supported to take these changes forward.”
The proposed sites for the centres are Manchester, Leeds, Leicester, Harlow, Tunbridge Wells and Bristol. It has not been revealed how many staff will be affected.
In a statement, HSP said it is offering the “majority” of staff affected by the changes the opportunity to relocate to one of the new regional centres. They will be supported by a relocation package.
HSP, which is headquartered in Northampton, said the proposals would drive a new and enhanced approach to customer service.
The firm, which is part of PaperlinX group, added that its distribution network would not be affected.
PLANNED AMALGAMATIONS
• Edinburgh into Manchester
• Tyne and Wear into Leeds
• Norwich into Leicester
• London into Harlow
• Southampton into Tunbridge Wells
• Plymouth into Bristol
