HH to manage Asda print in one of 2008's 'largest' contracts

HH Print Management has won a multi-million pound print management deal with the supermarket Asda, following an extensive tendering process.

HH described the deal, which encompasses everything from technical print buying services to fulfilment and mail outs, as "one of the largest print management contract awards this year".

HH chief executive Robert MacMillan said: "Asda works with more than 150 suppliers currently, so HH is delighted at being selected despite tough competition from the largest print groups and print managers.

"Despite an uncertain outlook, this is a clear message that UK retailers still value print in their overall marketing mix. Asda is set to increase its print spend so it was important that they install controls over brand accuracy, quality of production, time taken to market and cost control that this solution will bring."

The contract, which is being implemented with immediate effect across all print, excluding PoS and labels, is set to expand in 2009 to include the Asda magazine and the Asda Direct catalogue, which is currently printed in Germany.
