H&H Group continues expansion with Cypher Digital acquisition

H&H Group has continued its aggressive acquisition programme and expanded its digital print capabilities after acquiring Milnthorpe-based Cypher Digital.

The group has taken on all of the £1m turnover company's 12 staff and will retain the same management, design and production team at the firm's Cumbria facility.

The acquisition is the group's third in two years, following on from the purchase of Reeds Printers in 2010 and Albany Sign and Display last July.

According to Brian Richardson, chief executive of H&H Group, the two companies are "an exceptionally good fit with a similar ethos".

"This will really strengthen H&H Reeds Printers’ existing portfolio and for the H&H Group this sees a further avenue for increasing revenue as well as broadening our customer base," he added.

Cypher Digital specialised in exhibition graphics, signage, vehicle graphics and banners.

Paul Calland, formerly managing director of 17-year-old Cypher Digital becomes a director of H&H Reeds Printers as part of the deal.

According to Calland, the acquisition is "an exciting and progressive opportunity" for both the company and its customers.

He said: "As a result of this merger we can offer businesses across the UK cutting edge print at all levels and for all projects – it truly is a ‘one stop shop’.

"Cypher Digital really complements H&H Reed Printers’ existing portfolio of print offerings across a wider geographical spread. This really is a partnership made in print."

Financials involved in the acquisition were undisclosed.
