Exhibiting under its ‘Simply Smart’ banner the firm will be demonstrating its five-colour Versafire CV digital press running neon toner in the fifth unit.
It will also be showing a Prinect Press Center XL 2 press control station to illustrate its 'Push to Stop' philosophy and how the Heidelberg XL platform works, demonstrating packages including Intellistart 2. The Press Center will be fed with live and simulated data to show visitors the depth of productivity enhancing data that is available on XL presses.
The company will also be talking to visitors about Low Energy UV and LED-UV at the show.
“A lot of customers are looking at whether they should move from conventional to low-energy or LED, we’re the only manufacturer with a significant installed base of all three options so we want to help visitors make the right decision for their businesses by offering unbiased advice matched to their business needs,” said Heidelberg UK managing director Gerard Heanue.
Heidelberg, which, along with Antalis, Close Brothers Asset Finance, Duplo, Tharstern and Xerox, is a headline sponsor of PrintWeekLive!, will host two workshop sessions extoling the virtues of the ‘marginal gains’ philosophy pioneered by former GB Cycling Team performance director, Sir David Brailsford.
The sessions, led by UK sales director Jim Todd, will show delegates how the philosophy can be applied to a print business and offer practical tips on making small changes to generate big efficiency boosts.
“We’ll be showing that all printers can benefit, not just Heidelberg customers. We’ll be showing how small changes in how you structure your operation, how paper flows through the factory, or how a small change to your consumables might impact productivity – a lot of the lessons that Anthony Thirlby [Heidelberg’s worldwide Prinect general manager] put in practice when he was running ESP Colour before joining Heidelberg.
Finally, Thirlby will be taking part in a conference panel discussion on the 'print room of tomorrow' looking at the impact of automation and integration in a print environment.
PrintWeekLive! takes place at the Wasps Arena, Coventry on the 8 and 9 March.
