Entries can be submitted until 28 February, and there is a prize fund of €50,000 (£42,000) set aside for the awards, which include two categories, 'sustainability' and 'forward-looking solutions'.
Gernot Keller, UK product manager for B1, said: "We are encouraging printers to evaluate their environmental processes and commitment.
"A jury will then select the most advanced, original and innovative businesses."
All entries must be submitted in written form, with entry forms available online at www.heidelberg.com/eco_award.
The Heidelberg Eco Printing Award will be presented in June 2011 after an independent international panel of judges has assessed the entries.
The company said the award scheme focused on the sustainable use of resources and energy, climate protection, and environmentally aware management practices.
The winners would set a benchmark for the entire industry and encourage others to adopt sustainable business practices and solutions, it added.
The Heidelberg Eco Printing Award is open to any printer that operates at least one sheetfed offset press.
