Guvenen accepted the chain of office from outgoing president Lascelle Barrow, who has served as president since June 2013, his second term.

In his handover speech, Barrow described Fespa as the “printers' champion”, an organization that invests heavily in giving printers the tools and information they need to take their businesses forward and embrace the many opportunities in the wide-format sector.

He also praised Guvenen’s role in establishing Fespa Eurasia and the growth of European Sign Expo.

“Looking to the future, where print works increasingly hand in hand with digital media… we know that he will put his heart and soul into the role of Fespa president to ensure that we fulfill our mission,” said Barrow.

Guvenen said he was very proud to take on the role as chair of the Fespa board, where he will work with the General Assembly of the organisation’s 37 member associations and Fespa chief executive Neil Felton on developing Fespa’s strategy across the globe.

“Fespa’s 37 Associations give Fespa the opportunity to think globally and act locally, I will continue to care for and grow the Fespa family,” said Guvenen.

“Tonight is one of the proudest of my life. Our mission continues to be ensuring that Fespa’s global reach and continued commercial success is used to drive sustained growth and continued development for the print community. Fespa unique Profit for Purpose is key to fulfilling that ambition.”
