The deal to sell the new printers, which were launched in April, follows GPT’s success as a reseller of HP’s Latex range of printers.
The business will demonstrate a FB550 at its own showroom at its PrintoberFest event on 7 and 8 October.
GPT general manager Shaun Thompson said: “We only started focusing on the HP Latex range at the start of this year and we have already exceeded our sales targets, thanks largely to a very successful Sign & Digital UK show.
“Being appointed as one of the key resellers for the new HP flatbed printers further promotes our relationship with HP.”
The FB550 and FB750 offer printers an entrance into rigid printing and are suitable for applications including retail POS, signage, fine art and decoration and window graphics.
The devices offer a 12% increase in productivity on indoor signage than earlier models, according to HP.
They also feature a new tabletop roll holder design for flexible substrates, to make them better suited to short runs, and new tapered wheels, which allow for safe media loading and prevent media edge damage.
“I am confident that our customers and the market in general will look at this announcement as an endorsement of the capabilities of GPT,” said Thompson.
“We are developing strategically and positively and our commitment is to offer our customers the very best possible printing solutions the market has to offer.”
HP UK and Ireland large-format production products channel business manager Jane Rixon said: “GPT has shown an excellent understanding of the industry and, more specifically, of the specific requirements that customers are looking for.
“They are a responsive, professional organisation with a lot of technical, market and application knowledge. We know they are also very strong in the flatbed printers market and we are very much looking forward to growing a solid and successful partnership with them.”
GPT, a division of Amari Plastics, offers a wide range of HP, Mimaki, Epson and Canon printers as well as an array of consumables to its customer base.
