Although details are being kept under wraps, the developer said its new tool marks a "breakthrough" in calculating profiles for simulating the combined printing of both spot and process colours.
GMG research team leader Hanno Hoffstadt said the simulation offers "predictability that was previously thought unachievable".
"At the moment, we are working flat-out on the products and expect detailed information to be available just in time for the exhibition," he added.
GMG's new cloud-based tool targets companies across the publishing chain from agencies to printers. This includes the ability to offer online colour conversions and colour correction.
In addition, GMG will be showcasing its GMG ProductionSuite for high-volume wide-format users.
The company's foray into the wide-format print sector can drive more than 800 print and cutting machines and is claimed to be "the most complete solution in the market" for indoor and outdoor advertising, sign and super-wide-format printing.
GMG managing director Ian Scott said: "Many of our innovations are the result of valuable user feedback. Thanks in particular to our close relationships with our clients, our solutions are not abstract laboratory developments — they are tools that offer very specific customer benefits, and therefore offer real advantages in productivity."
GMG to debut spot-colour simulation tool
GMG will give a global launch to its new spot-colour simulation tool for packaging printers, in addition to a cloud-based tool for soft-proofing at Drupa.
