Heidelberg India represents Gallus in India.
Samir Patkar, business head for web converting solutions and consumables at Heidelberg India, said: "The new online configuration tool for ECS 340 press offers facilities that allows users to create a customised, interactive configuration for ECS 340 in three simple steps. It can produce one or unlimited number of configuration as required."
It has a welcome page, which provides general information on benefits of ECS 340, followed by the first step in process – defining the basic configuration, which is the printing equipment, the number of inking and die-cutting units.
The second is a more detailed step. Optional accessories can be added to each part of the ECS 340 marked up with a plus sign. Clicking on one of these signs opens a pop-up window listing all the options for extending the press, from options such as reel lift unwinding unit, web-cleaning system, corona conditioning unit to die-cutting press and depth adjuster. With a click of the mouse, the web monitoring mechanism and reel lift rewind unit can be added and removed again as required.
Once the configuration has been completed, the third step enables users to print or send the image and the associated configuration details. The configuration can also be sent to Gallus with any questions or to obtain a precise price breakdown/quotation.
"With the new configurator tool, we hope to create added value for our customers, while improving the quality of the advise it offers," said Patkar. "Using the configurator will make for quick and easy identification of key benefits and options available."
The web-based tool work with standard browsers like Internet Explorer, Firefox and Safari.
At present, the Gallus ECS 340 has been installed at Sai Packaging, Bengaluru. The other popular Gallus label press, the EM 280 has over 55 installations in India.
