Friedheim enjoys busy last days

Finishing equipment supplier Friedheim International (19/C710) rounded off a successful Ipex with a raft of kit sales in the final few days of the show.

Magazine specialist Headley Brothers and Suffolk-based Micropress both signed for MBO K800.2 Perfection folders and packaging printer Nampak Healthcare bought a Herzog + Heymann (H+H) KL112 folder.

Headley Brothers' machine features full Navigator control, a multi-function batch counter, vaculift feeder loading system and sheet feed alignment. The K800 replaces two older folders and the firm said it would boost capacity.

Managing director Roger Pitt said: "We are looking to improve our finishing department and this is a very robust machine."

Micropress's deal, which was just shy of £180,000, was the company's first MBO and included a Palamides Alpha 700 delivery system.

"We bought it because it's a really operator-friendly machine and we've seen other finishing houses have this particular folder," said managing director Mike Cross.

Nampak said its H+H KL 112 folder will provide greater flexibility in leaflet size.

Site manager Tina Goodman said: "This latest addition to our portfolio means that we can provide our customers with the best quality products."
