The machine, which is suitable for applications including direct mail and catalogues, is the High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire-based direct mail printer's first inkjet press. It is expected to be installed at the firm's 2,787sqm premises in August.
First Move managing director David Amor said: “We have been watching inkjet very closely for quite a number of years, in order to take forward colour, variable data and variable imagery, at what we thought was the right cost.
“We originally looked at the Rialto 900 inkjet press but it wasn't for us and the conversation then moved forward to the Trivor.”
The Trivor 2400 is additional to the firm's plant list, which also includes Xerox equipment including an iGen4, Versant technology and five Nuvera 314 mono machines.
The Trivor 2400 runs at 100m/min at full 600dpi in four-colour mode, or 200m/min in mono mode. In highest quality colour mode of 1,200x600dpi it runs at between 50-60m/min.
“We have been growing and we want to continue that growth and we feel that this is very much somewhere where we can grow and develop,” said Amor.
“It's very exciting to be involved in something which is so new to the market.”
First Move Direct Marketing, which produces direct mail for more than 200 clients, including local authorities and housing associations, has more than 60 staff and a turnover of around £9m.
