Set to take over Messe Munich from 18-21 May 2021, the exhibition will be returning to the Bavarian capital only two years after this year’s edition.
Fespa 2020 is set to take place in Madrid from 24-27 March, relocated from Germany and brought forward in the calendar to avoid a clash with Drupa, which takes place next June June next year.
While official visitor figures have yet to be released for Fespa 2019, attendance was confirmed by exhibitions director Roz Guarnori to be “on a par” with the circa 20,000 unique visitors that attended the expo’s previous showing in Berlin last year.
She said: “Munich is an extremely popular venue with both our exhibitor and visitor communities, always featuring highly in any polls we carry out to understand the appetite for future venues. It is a vibrant and friendly city offering excellent amenities, transport and cultural activities.
“Munich is not only a great city, but Munich Messe offers fantastic facilities and accessibility for both visitors and exhibitors alike such as an airport shuttle to and from the exhibition.
“We survey our community frequently to ensure the destinations for our Global Print Expo events are in line with demand.”
Though the decision to return Fespa to Munich for the sixth time in 2021 was locked in years in advance, Guarnori said that the success of the 2019 show had “validated” this decision.
As ever, both Fespa 2020 and Fespa 2021 will be co-located with the European Sign Expo, while the 2020 edition will mark the inaugural edition of Sportswear Pro, an additional show dedicated to the manufacturing of sports- and activewear textiles which was announced during this year’s Fespa.
