Fespa Events managing director Frazer Chesterman was upbeat saying: "It’s our highest pre-registration ever, exceeding Berlin in 2007, despite still being in the midst of tough economic times.
"Ours is a confident industry and is still keen to see innovation and to network with peers at an event like this," he added.
This year’s show is 25% larger than the last time it was at Munich in 2005, taking up 55,000sqm with 700 exhibitors.
Fespa president Anders Nilsson said: "I’m happy to see familiar faces and new faces, which proves there is a strong future for our industry for both screen and digital production."
In addition to the exhibitor’s stands there are 80 free seminars taking place over the course of the show and, reflecting the innovative ethos of the event, Fespa itself has added new elements including Fabric Live.
