Yorkshire-based freelance graphic designer Dave Parkes won the competition with his cosmically inspired entry, while second and third places went to Daniela Asael from Germany and James Simonsen from the Czech Republic respectively.
The competition, which was sponsored by GarmentPrinting.co.uk, invited anyone to submit a design for a printed t-shirt, which incorporated the Fespa Fabric logo and was inspired by the space exploration theme of this year’s Fespa 2015 exhibition.
Visitors to the event, which was held from 18-22 May in Cologne, were then asked to vote for their favourite design.
Parkes received 25 t-shirts digitally printed with his winning design by GarmentPrinting.co.uk, as well as €100 (£73) worth of Amazon vouchers. The second- and third-place entrants received 10 and five t-shirts respectively printed with their own design.
Fespa divisional director Roz McGuinness said: “This year’s entries illustrated the Fespa 2015 space theme perfectly, showing a host of creative designs.
“It’s great to see members of the Fespa Fabric community actively engage with the competition, which showcases the creative effects that can be achieved with garment printing. Congratulations to the three finalists.”
