The 10-year-old, Leicester-based company opted for the new machine, which will enable the firm to bring the majority of its POS work in-house after analysing output from several manufacturers.
FastAnt managing director Matthew Wennington said: "I consider it my obligation to focus on making sure we are as efficient as possible and that we don’t have money tied up in equipment unless it’s working very effectively for us.
"As a result, we only invest in something once we are absolutely certain that it will pay dividends for us."
Launched last October, the 3.2m-wide flatbed printer can print on a range of rigid and flexible substrates.
Offering maximum output speeds of 500sqm per hour, materials include corrugated board, paper, foam board, Dibond and plastics for both indoor and outdoor applications.
It can print on sheets of up to 1,650x3,200mm and on substrates up to 25mm thick. According to Wennington, the company frequently uses high volumes of corrugated boards, a substrate easily handled by the FB7600.
He added: "Part of the sample designs we submitted to HP included those printed onto corrugated board using the highest saturation level.
"The FB7600 printed around 100 straight-off in about an hour and without skipping a beat, so we knew if it could handle that, it could handle any substrate we threw at it," he added.
