EFI launches entry-level R3225 printer for soft-signage

EFI has unveiled the latest addition to its range of UV-curable wide-format inkjet printers, the R3225, which is designed for soft-signage applications.

The 3.2m roll-to-roll machine is being positioned as an entry-level route into UV inkjet production for signage businesses.

Capable of an output at up to 50.8sqm per hour in quality mode operation, the R3225 can print on substrates up to 3.2m wide and 1mm thick.

The machine is suitable for applications such as point-of-purchase displays, banners, wall coverings, interior decorations and vehicle graphics.

The EFI R3225 leverages the manufacturer's UV-curable ink technology that it positions as an alternative to latex print production

According to EFI product manager Scott Wood, the new machine uses eight-level variable drop greyscale technology to help produce "stunning images" while emitting minimal VOC levels.

Available in the second quarter of this year, the R3225 will cost around £101,000 ($160,000).
